Dedicated infrastructure for content delivery.
Build cache and origin infrastructure around your audience, working set and delivery traffic.
Your content, closer to its audience.
Plan cache capacity and delivery bandwidth around demand, content size and expected cache hit rates.
Balance cache capacity, origin traffic and audience demand.
A delivery node needs enough storage for its working set and enough network capacity for busy periods. Cache efficiency changes both origin load and delivery cost. Plan around actual object sizes, popularity distribution and request rates rather than treating every terabyte of stored content as equally active.
Size the working set
Estimate the content repeatedly requested during your chosen cache window. Consider NVMe endurance, object count and application metadata as well as raw capacity. A larger cache helps only when it improves useful hit rates.
Model the origin path
Estimate cold-cache fills, invalidations and cache misses. Protect the origin from simultaneous rebuilds across nodes and define safe retry limits. Include backfill traffic when comparing bandwidth commitments.
Expand with measured demand
Use audience distribution and request latency to choose initial regions. Measure hit ratio, origin bandwidth and tail response times before adding another node or city.
